Dorothy Mildred Runyan (nee Flower) formerly of Merton passed away peacefully at Seasons Hospice and was joyfully reunited with her husband Omer J. Runyan on February 23, 2017 at the age of 89.
She was born to Donald C. and Mildred Flower(Cook) on
November 4, 1927 in Troy, OH. She met her love Omer J Runyan
in Estes Park, CO and married June 24, 1950 in Wichita, KS.
Dorothy liked flowers inside the house and out, she belonged to the Flower Club in Oshkosh and was a Garden Docent at Oshkosh Paine Art Center. She loved birds, cooking, needle point, antiques and going to auctions. She was devoted to being a Cub Scout Den mother, delivering Meals on Wheels, and working at the voting polls.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Omer Runyan, brother Donald Flower and his wife Elsie(Schleckenmaier), her sister Gloria Shepler, and brother-in-law Duke Stallard. She is survived by her children, Sally (John) Russell, Tom (Diane) Runyan, Mike (Cyndi) Runyan, Chris (Laurie) Runyan, Mark (Carla) Runyan, her sister Diane Stallard and brother-in-law Buddy Shepler. Further survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday March 3rd at 11:00AM at St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic church in North Lake, WI. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30AM until the time of Mass.
Final rest will be in St. Clare Cemetery
