Diane Herrick

Diane Herrick was born on June 7, 1929,
and passed away peacefully in the early
morning on November 19, 2017.

To those who knew and loved Diane, there is no doubt that she has joined her late husband, Donald, in Heaven. While all family and friends miss Diane dearly, they cherish many years of memories. For Diane, there was nothing more important or enjoyable in life than time spent with family. Her children and grandchildren are so grateful to have had the opportunity to truly know Diane and her quick wit and sense of humor.

One of Diane’s signature phrases was “live it up,” and she sure did. She loved spending time with family, gardening, dining at Chenequa Country Club with the Divas, and volunteering. Diane found joy in the simple, everyday aspects of life. She was active in her community, was kind and generous to everyone (including animals), and was an avid sports fan. Before marriage, Diane was a schoolteacher in Shorewood, Wisconsin. Grandma Diane was famous for her holiday decorations, and her grandchildren could always count on having the best Halloween costumes with her expert sewing and crafting.

Diane leaves behind loving children Donald (Debbie) of Hartland, Sarah of Moose Lake Minnesota, John (Katie) of Hartland, Charles (Liz) of Hartland, William (Peggy) of Pleasant Prairie; as well as adoring grandchildren Heather Herrick, Molly (Cody) Alimondi, Shannon (Michael) Tierney, Elizabeth Herrick, Michael Herrick, Bridget Herrick, Emma Herrick, Abby Herrick and Elly Herrick, great-grandson Rory Tierney, and many nieces and nephews.

Diane Herrick was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents, Elmer and Catherine; her two sisters, Joyce and Kathleen; and her brother, Richard.

Diane’s family would like to thank the staff at Chateau Le Blanc and Badger Hospice for their devoted and loving care of Diane.

Funeral services will be held on December 9, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Church in North Lake. Visitation will precede the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Diane's body will be placed to rest at Mound Cemetery in Racine, Wisconsin. In memory of Diane, the family asks that memorials be made to St Vincent De Paul Society or the Wisconsin Humane Society.
